Due to the right selection of species and strains (combination of yeast and bacteria) Lesaffre starters meet all the modern expectations of the industry. Lesaffre's expertise in this field allows the baker to choose the right fermentation preparations.


LIVENDO starters are made from a combination of pure and carefully selected strains of lactic acid bacteria and yeast. They are used to create unique acids and aromas in the dough.


LIVENDO starters simplify the preparation of the sourdough to such an extent that it is possible to prepare it in one step in less than 24 hours. The use of starters helps to avoid the activities necessary to refresh the sourdough produced spontaneously using traditional methods. They have many advantages: they guarantee constant performance and repeatable results.

  • Available packages: 1 kg, 6 kg and 10 kg boxes.
  • Shelf life: 24 months from the production date for the LV1 starter. 18 months from the production date for the LV2 starters.
  • DOSAGE: 0.2% to 0.5% of the used flour weight, depending on the product and the expected level of acidity and the ripening process.
