Social responsibility
Lesaffre and social responsibility
We know that being responsible in business means not only meeting all formal and legal requirements set by laws and other regulations, but also implementing an effective management strategy which, through social dialogue, contributes to increasing the competitiveness of our company while shaping the conditions for sustainable social and economic development. Lesaffre Polska S.A. is a company with a high level of organizational culture.
As one of the leading and most important economic entities in the region, the company has been supporting charitable organizations and non-commercial social initiatives for many years. Participating in various types of campaigns allows us to create a positive image of the company.
We are the initiator of a promotional campaign unique in our industry, promoting the idea of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), under the name: LESAFFRE PRESTIGE GROUP.
Lesaffre is committed to building good relationships with other businesses through active participation in meetings of chambers of commerce and industry, employers’ organizations, and employment agencies. Lesaffre Polska S.A. is a member of the Opole Chamber of Commerce, the Business Centre Club, the Opole Silesia Environmental Protection Club, and the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Membership in these institutions promotes our company not only in the region, but also throughout Poland. Furthermore, being affiliated means we have more influence in our environment. Thanks to the exchange of experiences, we can share good practices.
Nature
The priority of Lesaffre Polska’s production activities is to continuously improve its environmental impact. The factory in Wołczyn is one of the most modern and, therefore, least energy-intensive plants in Central Europe, based on modern technologies.
The company is proud to hold a Certificate of Cleaner Production, awarded in 1999 and confirmed in 2005 by the Polish Cleaner Production Movement Association and the European Ecological Organization: Professional Development in Environmental Management and Cleaner Production in Industry, following the implementation of a project as part of a training cycle entitled “Environmental management in small and medium-sized enterprises. Practical aspects of implementing environmental management systems.”
The Cleaner Production Company Certificate attests to the environmentally friendly nature of the company, which has undergone a series of modernizations over the past 10 years that have had a huge impact on reducing the plant’s environmental impact and have also contributed to increasing the environmental awareness of its employees.
Projects including the construction of an evaporative and oxygen wastewater treatment plant were awarded by the jury of the Polish Cleaner Production Movement, and were also recognized as a model project implemented in the Opole Province by the Environmental Organization – Polish Green Network.
In terms of waste management, the company focuses on reducing waste at source. The main objective of waste management is recovery or recycling, which is why the company cooperates with specialist companies that ensure the amount of waste collected is minimized.
